Aged Care Standards and Accreditation Agency

The Aged Care Standards and Accreditation Agency is the independent body responsible for managing the accreditation and ongoing supervision of Commonwealth-funded aged care homes.

Centrelink

Centrelink is an agency of the Department of Human Services and delivers a range of services to the community. Centrelink assists those who are unemployed, disabled, caring for loved ones and retired and/or receiving a Government pension.

Commonwealth Carelink Centres

Commonwealth Carelink Centres are information centres for older people, people with disabilities and those who provide care and services. Centres provide free and confidential information on community aged care, disability and other support services available locally, interstate or anywhere within Australia.

Commonwealth Carer Respite Centre – Mid and Far North Coast

Carer Respite Centres provide a single point of contact for carers seeking information on local respite services. The centre can help arrange planned respite or emergency respite and works closely with respite provider to ensure the community needs are addressed. Carer support groups are also organised through the centre.

Dementia Care Australia

Dementia Care Australia caters for all dementia conditions of which Alzheimer’s disease is only one. Their mission is to change society’s attitude to dementia, and to achieve for elderly people with dementia the highest possible level of emotional and social fulfilment.

This Australian Government Department’s mission is to improve the lives of Australians by helping to build the capacity and well-being of individuals, families and communities. The Department of Family and Community Services offers programs and information useful to seniors, people living with disabilities, carers, youth and women.

Department of Health and Ageing

The Australian Government seeks to provide better health and healthier ageing for all Australians through a world-class health system. This website details information on the Department’s health and ageing policies, programs and services.

Department of Veterans’ Affairs

The Department of Veterans’ Affairs supports serving and former members of the Australian Defence Force, their families and others concerned with their well being. This website provider information on pensions, health, housing and commemorations.

LawLink NSW

Lawlink NSW is hosted by the Attorney General’s Department of NSW. It is a government portal website to law and justice agencies in New South Wales. Lawlink NSW is the umbrella site to more than 40 law and justice agencies.

National Aged Care Alliance

The National Aged Care Alliance is a representative body of peak national organisations in aged care, including consumer groups, providers, unions, and health professionals, working together to determine a more positive future for aged care in Australia.

North Coast Area Health Service

The North Coast Area Health Service combines the former Northern Rivers and Mid North Coast Area Health Services. NCAHS is responsible for the delivery public hospital and community health services throughout the region.

National Seniors Association

National Seniors is a not-for-profit membership based community organisation which seeks to provide economic and social benefits for people 50 years and over and represent its members views to Government at all levels. Is also provides service and advice to organisations assisting people 50 years and older.

Office of the Public Guardian

The Office of the Public Guardian exists to promote the rights and interests of people with disabilities through the practice of guardianship, advocacy and education. The Guardianship Tribunal appoints NSW Public Guardian as guardian of last resort and the Office is part of the Attorney General’s Department.

Public Trustee

The Public Trustee of New South Wales was established by the NSW Government and is responsible for the making of Wills, the management of Trust Funds, Assets, Deceased Estates, Private Client Services and other related products and services.

Volunteering Australia

Volunteering Australia is the national peak body working to advance volunteering in the Australian community. Their mission is to represent the diverse views and needs of the volunteer sector while promoting the activity of volunteering as one of enduring social, cultural and economic value.
