A Caring Legacy (Bequests)

Leaving a Caring Legacy such as a Bequest is a great way of showing you Care.

 It is natural in wanting to show your appreciation for an act of kindness or for a service rendered. For some this can be done by simply giving a financial donation; for others a more appropriate time to say thank you is when they make the decision to include a bequest to their favourite charity (such as Feros Care) in their Will. A bequest can take many forms including cash or securities, real estate, life insurance policies, annuities or trusts and cultural property such as books and artwork.

 Bequests, great or small, can do amazing things. For example, they can purchase a bus to take residents and clients on outings that link them with their community, upgrade facilities, help establish new services in areas of unmet needs, fund scholarships and traineeships or trial new models of care delivery aimed at improving health outcomes for seniors in our care.

 Caring about your family and friends should always be your first priority and this important document should be discussed with your financial and legal advisors. If you do decide to leave a bequest to Feros Care your Solicitor needs to ensure the following wording is used in the Will:

 I bequeath (-describe your gift-) to Feros Care Limited for the general purposes of Feros Care, Locked Bag 1, Coolangatta  Qld 4225; and declare the signature of the Secretary for the time being, of the said Company, to be sufficient for discharge of my Executors.

 You can specify that your bequest be used for particular purpose in your Will; however, stating that your bequest is to be left for the ‘general purposes’ of Feros Care ensures that your contribution is used to provide immediate and maximum benefit to seniors in our care.
