Aged care industry update for Feros Care clients

While a lot has changed during the pandemic, Feros Care has kept its dedication to the safety and wellbeing of each and every one of our clients. This aged care update covers the changes and solutions taking place within our organistaion.

To say COVID-19 has shaken life up, is a bit of an understatement. As human beings we thrive on routine and certainty. So the unpredictability of the past few months has challenged us all and for many people there has been a real feeling of overwhelm as we adapt to the new norm.

While there’s no quick-fix, Feros Care has been working overtime to help maintain a sense of security, routine and normalcy for our clients, residents, visitors, carers, support staff and all their families. The health and safety of everyone in our community is our primary concern and the reason we continue to take proactive and precautionary measures to reduce the risk of the virus.

The good news is that Feros Care has always provided flexible support and online options, so the majority of our aged care services are able to function as normal – while adhering to strict infection control protocols and government guidelines. The only exception has been activities such as Group Exercise and Social Transport, which remain on hold for the time being.

So while it might feel like nothing is quite what it used to be, some things remained unchanged – such as Feros Care’s extensive virtual services. Telehealth, for example, is ideal for seniors who are especially vulnerable to health risks like COVID-19 and who are understandably reluctant to venture out.

Feros Care’s Telehealth Remote Monitoring services can provide health evaluation, professional monitoring and treatment at a distance using the latest technology. This valuable resource means our clients can continue to have convenient access to healthcare providers from the comfort of home.

While we’ve all had to learn to enjoy life in the iso-slow lane, Feros Care’s Virtual Social Centre (VSC) has been the hottest ticket in town. This fun, 24/7 online community offers a weekly calendar jam-packed full of activities and ways to connect with others. From Forever Young and Tai Chair exercise classes for physical wellbeing, to armchair travel and book clubs for cognitive and emotional wellbeing – it’s all at your fingertips for you to discover at your leisure.

At Feros Care we understand the desire to get back to life BC (before coronavirus), however we continue to rely on everyone’s assistance to keep our community safe. So while some restrictions are being slowly eased within the community, remaining vigilant is our highest priority.
