What is the CHSP (Commonwealth Home Support Program)?
The Commonwealth Home Support Program is designed for those aged 65* or over who require a little extra assistance to continue living independently at home (*50 years or older for Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander people).
Subsidised by the Australian federal government, the program covers several home and community care services which are provided by aged care CHSP service providers – like Feros Care!
What sets us apart from other providers is we do aged care YOUR way. We offer products and services tailored to you as an individual to help you remain living at home where you are comfortable, feel safe, and are surrounded by the things you love.
Instead of taking over and doing things for you, we listen to what you can do so the extra support we provide helps you live a happy, safe, and connected life in the comfort of your own home.
The CHSP delivers entry-level support, however if you ever feel like you need more support, you can request to be assessed for a Home Care Package (HCP). A HCP is another government-funded initiative providing a higher level of support for those with more comprehensive care requirements.
If your needs change, we can assist you with a HCP and, if approved, deliver the home, health, and community services that best suit your unique needs.
Services Covered by CHSP
The Commonwealth Home Support Programme (CHSP) offers older Australians a range of home and aged care services to improve quality of life and help you stay at home longer.
As an authorised service provider with 35 years of experience in the aged care industry, at Feros Care, we have the knowledge, experience, and human touch to help you with a range of everyday tasks.
These services include:
Personal care
As compassionate aged care providers, we can help you bathe, dress, toilet, and groom with respect and dignity.
Domestic assistance
If you need support with housekeeping, laundry, meal preparation, garden maintenance, and other house-related tasks, we offer these services as part of your personalised home support plan.
Social support
We understand that getting older can cause people to become more socially isolated, which is why we offer Social Groups. Providing a range of fun activities and valuable social support, they allow you to get out and about with likeminded people.
Transportation
One of our most popular entry-level services is transport services to take you to medical appointments, grocery shopping, and to run errands.
Respite care
If you or your loved one require respite care services in the home, we can help and provide relief for caregivers.
Home modifications
Should you need modifications in your home to make it safer such as the installation of ramps, stair lifts or grab bars, we can organise these for you as part of our specific services.
Allied Health Groups
Would you like to move more confidently around your home, become more active, get to know like-minded people, and add some fun to your life? Our eight-week Allied Health Groups could be the answer!
