Juliet Thomasson, 70

Age: 70

Bellingen, NSW

While Juliet says the full flower-power stories of her wild life in the 70s will stay under wraps, her ‘hippie’ spirit still shines true and bright. From being a part of the Haight Ashbury Movement of California in 1967, to nursing at 19 and onto life as a mother, wife and an accomplished public speaker and Social and Community worker, Juliet began expressing herself through poetry in her teens and now is returning to creativity with a reflective integrity for words that connect and inspire.

A poem

I am the upwelling of my ancestors

I am a survivor

I am the embodiment of the things I love

I am the finger of cloud lifting from the forest

I am that tender embrace

I am the rounded green hill

I am the crystal clear cold creek

I am the cool zephyr that caresses

I am living in the love of my children

I am the love of my husband

I am walking home

I am a lover of words

I paint with words

I am the sunset and the evening star.
