Increase your flexibility.  Live life to the full.  Try something new.

Young Ducks is a hydrotherapy program designed to reduce joint pain, increase your ease of movement and help you feel great.

You get to pull on your bathers, splash about and have a laugh as you work to improve your flexibility, endurance, balance and agility.  Classes can be in a group or one-on-one, depending on numbers.

The first session is on dry land to assess which exercises are right for you.  Following that you hit the pool for eight one hour sessions with a qualified instructor.

Hydrotherapy is a really supportive and safe environment for exercise – especially for those with painful joints.   The heated pool environment makes movement easier as well as providing vital warmth and compression to help with soreness.

Hydrotherapy is also proven to provide benefits in strength, cardiovascular health and mood – it’s a win win situation!

Young Ducks is designed, led, and the results measured, by qualified physiotherapists or exercise physiologists.  Join forces with our team and you will be able to see for yourself just how much you’ve improved.

Am I eligible?

If you can enter and exit a suitable pool unaided this could be the program for you.

Older people can apply for the Young Ducks program under the Home Care Package (HCP) and Short-Term Restorative care (STRC) Program.  It is also available under the Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP) if you are over 65 (or over 50 years for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders).

Call Feros Care on 1300 090 256 for a quick chat so we can find if you qualify.

What’s involved?

The initial assessment takes an hour and a half and occurs in your home.  From there we move to a suitable local pool for eight one hour sessions. Depending on how your program is funded, you will either need to arrange your own transport to and from the pool, or we will arrange it for you.

Is there a cost for the program?

This program is available under the Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP), the Home Care Package (HCP) and Short-Term Restorative Care (STRC).  Where you fit within these funding options will determine the cost.

Call Feros Care on 1300 090 256 and we will help clarify the costs involved.
