Just as our trailblazing Feros Care team members aren’t your typical aged care workers, 76-year-old Darryl Ferney isn’t your typical aged care client.
Boasting an eclectic backstory with a rich tapestry of interesting and downright cool professional and personal highlights, he’s about as vanilla as a rainbow paddle pop. In other words, Darryl obliterates the ‘boring and beige’ stereotype sometimes associated with his age group, and is the personification of an aged care recipient reframing public perception.
Approaching 91-years-young, Anne experiences poor balance and loss of muscle strength which have affected her mobility, and restricted her basic day-to-day tasks. Thankfully, she found Feros Care Exercise Physiologist, Danielle, and has seen vast improvements. This increased mobility has helped her get back to doing the things she loves, and empowered her to continue living independently.
Not only are these nifty devices a breeze to activate (all you have to do is talk!), but they help keep you safe at home and make daily life so much easier. Feros Care Home Package clients, Faye and Graham, can vouch for this first-hand, and “wouldn’t be without them”.

A respected and popular Feros Care Community Support Worker, Marion spends her days doing what she loves; helping aged care clients, including the unstoppable Daisy. 95 years young, full of life, and as sharp as a tack, it’s not hard to see how this lovable ‘pocket rocket’ has inspired Marion to stick around for a decade and a half.
With a hearty laugh overflowing with optimism, it’s hard to imagine 69-year-old Jill ever feeling down. It wasn’t long ago, however, during an endless wait for a heart transplant, she faced a choice – to remain stuck in a rut or start living. With courage (and a self-directed kick in the rear), she enrolled in Feros Care’s Healthy Me, Healthy Community (HMHC) program.
Now, she’s making each day count instead of counting down the days.

In 2011, while gearing up for an event, Grant sustained a spinal cord injury when he crashed riding at his local mountain bike park.
