Support at Home
Explained
A new in-home aged care program is on the way and we’re here to help you make sense of it.
We know there’s been a lot of talk about aged care changes lately, and it’s completely understandable if you’re feeling a little (or a lot!) confused.
That’s why we’ll explain everything in plain English – no jargon, no unnecessary big words, just simple, easy to understand information.
And if you have questions, our expert team is ready to help on 1300 090 256.
Here we go…
From 1 November 2025, a new program called Support at Home will begin.
It will replace the current Home Care Packages and Short-Term Restorative Care program, and it will become the new way to get services like cleaning, nursing, physio, meals and more to help you stay living safely and independently at home.
Support at Home is designed to make it easier, fairer and faster to get the help you need.
And it’s not something the government has dreamed up on its own. It’s been thoughtfully shaped by feedback from older Australians, families and carers just like you.

So, what does support at home
actually mean for you?
Where are you on your aged care journey?
Whether you’re already receiving services with Feros Care, you’ve been approved but not yet started, have a Home Care Package with another provider, or you’re just starting to look into aged care support for the first time – just like Goldilocks we’ve got the information that’s just right for you.
Choose the option that best describes your situation:
Unsure of your situation?
That’s totally okay. We’re here to help. You can call our Customer Care team on 1300 090 256 to have your questions answered or do our quick quiz.
Restorative Care Pathway
Short-term support to stay strong, safe, and independent at home
The government is replacing the old Short-Term Restorative Care (STRC) with a program called the Restorative Care Pathway.
It’s designed to give you short-term support (up to 12 weeks) to help you stay independent, safe, and strong at home, without needing to move straight into longer-term aged care services.
And if you ever feel like you need more help down the track, we’ll be right here to guide you into longer-term options like Support at Home when you’re ready.

End-of-Life Support
Staying at home with comfort and dignity.
If you, or someone close to you, is nearing the end of life and wishes to stay at home, the End-of-Life Pathway offers extra support to make that possible.
Starting from 1 November 2025, the program provides additional funding of up to $25,000 over three months to help people remain at home with dignity, comfort, and the right care at the right time.
It’s support that respects your wishes, honours your choices, and wraps gently around you and your loved ones.
