What can core supports be used for?

As the main NDIS support category put in place to help you with everyday tasks, achieving the goals in your NDIS plan and community participation, NDIS core supports provide you with funding for:

Consumables

  • essential products such as continence aids, feeding equipment, special clothing and  specific nutritional products or low-cost assistive technology and equipment to improve your independence.

Daily Activities

  • in-home assistance with self-care tasks such as showering, personal hygiene and getting around at home

  • help with home maintenance, including gardening and cleaning

  • short term accommodation to give your family or carers a break

  • learning skills support, such as shopping, cooking, using a computer or planning a budget

Assistance with Social and Community Participation

  • attending recreational activities such as a dance or music workshop

Transport

  • a community bus service or taxis so you can get to work, social outings, attend appointments or get involved in a class.

Not eligible for an NDIS support plan? There are still supports available in your local community that you can access. To find out more about the NDIS and how Feros Care’s Local Area Coordinators can assist and support you, send an email to
