What are capacity building supports (NDIS)?

NDIS capacity building supports are the supports that you have access to help you build your skills, maintain your independence, pursue the goals in your NDIS plan and participate more fully in the community.

Capacity building funding can only be used to purchase approved individual supports that fall within that capacity building category. The nine NDIS capacity building support categories are:

  1. Support Coordination

  2. Improved Living Arrangements

  3. Increased Social & Community Participation

  4. Finding & Keeping a Job

  5. Improved Relationships

  6. Improved Health & Wellbeing

  7. Improved Learning

  8. Improved Life Choices

  9. Improved Daily Living

The NDIS capacity building supports that you have access to are based on the information provided in your planning meeting and the funding approved in your NDIS plan. That means you won’t automatically have access to all nine categories, just the ones you need to help you achieve your goals.
