Panel discussion around relationships, intimacy and sexuality for people with disability.

Facilitated by Sexological Educator, Keesha Booth, the panel, made up of people with disability discuss their experience navigating intimacy, sexuality and relationships.

The purpose of the panel is to spark conversations and challenge unconcious bias around intimacy for people with disability by inviting them to share their own experiences.

Meet the panel

Keesha Booth

Keesha (she/her) is a Specialist Advisor- People & Performance at PVW Partners. She is also a staunch advocate, educator and speaker for Violence Prevention education and is a board member for the Grass Skirt Project, which aims to eliminate domestic and sexual violence in Papua New Guinea and promote equality for women and girls. She is also the co-founder of Sexually Healthy Cities in Townsville.

Shereena Townsend

Shereena is a 27 year-old woman who lives with a rare bone condition called Osteogenesis Imperfecta, aka brittle bone disease. As a person with disability, the panel is important as she feels a lot of unconcious and concious bias exists around disability, intimacy and relationships. Khadija Gbla

Khadija (they/them) is a single mum, carer, black, non-binary, queer, neurodivergent and disabled award-winning human rights activist, model, inspirational speaker, facilitator and philanthopist. Khadija uses her powerful voice to advocate for structural change. She runs Khadija Gbla Cultural Consultancy.

Lauren Spear

Lauren is a trained educator, brain injury advocate, writer, mentor, speaker and CEO of the Orange Butterly Foundation. In 2018 Lauren was involved in a workplace accident and has been living with a traumatic brain injury since then.

Sengo Moussa

Sengo is a disability champion and business owner. Sengo arrived in Australia in 2019 and is a philanthropist, supporting 12 people in Congo living with disability. He supports his community through the NDIS journey.
