Mental Illness Resilience Project
Art Competition

A mental illness resilience project – Smashing stigmas around mental illness by sharing and honouring stories of mental illness resilience.

The winner is: Linda Chapman

According to the Australian Institute of Health and Welfare an estimated 43% of Australians aged 16-85 have experienced a mental illness in their lifetime. In a study undertake between 2020 and 2022, 17% of the population had experienced an Anxiety disorder in the 12 months prior.

There remains a lot of stigma around mental illness, despite the high number of people who have experienced it. This project aims to break those stigmas by sharing the real stories of real people who live with mental illness.
