Meet Lou
Lou has turned a life of hardship into a powerful voice for change. After enduring domestic violence and abuse from a young age, Lou is now advocating for greater recognition of brain injuries caused by domestic violence. Through her Repercussions from Concussions program, she’s pushing for head injury assessments by Queensland Ambulance Service and better testing in emergency rooms when women present after DV incidents.
Sober for 13 years, Lou has overcome unimaginable struggles and now works freelance in Mackay, raising awareness around domestic violence and helping others. From a life once silenced, Lou is now raising her voice for the cause, determined to make a difference.
