Disability Employment Summit Q&A Panel

Our panel of young people, inclusive employers, educators and employment professionals held a panel discussion around employment for young people with disability.

Meet the panel

Tyler

Tyler is a Year 12 student at The Busy School, and lives with Autism. He represented a hugely important group of people in this conversation – young people with disability looking to enter the workforce.

Marikka Wilken

Marikka is Careers Pathway Officer, also at the Busy School. Marikka supports students to understand their unique strengths, likes and preferences to help them find a career that is perfect for them post-school.

Stephanie Agnew

Stephanie is a Senior Consultant at Get Skilled Access.  Get Skilled Access is an organisation, founded by Dylan Alcott that’s dedicated to creating a new generation of disability inclusion that’s accessible to all. Stephanie’s lived experience of disability and her previous careers in real estate and hospitality mean she is well placed to provide tangible and sustainable advice to industry to improve the inclusion experience for people with disability. 

Scott Hickey

Scott is the Owner Operator of the Kingscliff Pool Shop. Scott wants to expand his business and is keen to create a welcoming, inclusive and diverse workspace.  

Kerrie Barnes

Kerrie is the General Manager Ethical Standards & Enterprise Risk at Surf Life Saving QLD. SLS QLD is a welcoming and inclusive employer and Kerrie spoke about what they do in their organisation to be inclusive. 

Petar Ilic

Petar is Lead Business Engagement Consultant at Busy Ability, a Disability Employment Service Provider. Petar spoke about what Disability Employment Service Providers can do to support people with disability to find and maintain meaningful employment.
