More the Merrier 2024: Bigger and brighter than ever!
Our sixth year of the More the Merrier campaign was nothing short of magical. In 2024, we brought smiles, connection, and Christmas joy to more seniors than ever before, thanks to the support of our incredible community.
Twas the season of impact
At its heart, More the Merrier is about creating meaningful connections for seniors who need them most. Through festive hampers, thoughtful Christmas cards and social visits, we ensured no one felt alone this holiday season.
In December 2024, more than 4000 seniors felt the love of their community
- 150 seniors received hand delivered hampers with a warm social visit
- 4000 seniors received Christmas Cards from school children, Girl Guides and other members of the community
As one of our clients shared, “This was the best Christmas I’ve had in years. I felt remembered and valued.”
Behind the hampers
Packing 150 hampers brimming with festive goodies is no small task, but the joy they bring makes it all worthwhile. Each goody bag contained treats like fragrant teas from Madame Flavour, Christmas pudding from the Pudding Lady, and more, creating a festive feast for our recipients.
It took countless carloads of donations, dedicated hands to pack, and a team full of holiday spirit to make it happen.
Maji from our Customer Experience team summed it up perfectly: “Seeing the smiles on their faces made all the hard work worth it!”
Our Christmas hamper recipients
Every day, Feros Care team members visit and care for seniors in their homes, building meaningful connections and understanding their individual needs. When we asked our Support at Home community to nominate seniors who might face a quiet Christmas to receive a festive hamper, there was no shortage of names.
The power of a card
We know how much seniors treasure the simple joy of receiving letters and cards from others, especially from young children. Through a partnership with Girl Guides Queensland and connection with many local schools such as Banora Point Primary School, we produced over 4000 handwritten Christmas cards to post and hand-deliver to senior’s homes.
For many recipients, these cards were the highlight of their holiday season.
“I haven’t received a card in years,” one senior shared. “To know someone cared enough to write to me… it brought tears to my eyes.”
Gratitude for our community
The magic of More the Merrier wouldn’t be possible without the generosity of individuals, philanthropists, businesses, and community organisations. Each year, support for the campaign grows, reflecting the kindness and connection at the heart of Feros Care’s networks.
