Together, we will:
- Understand the landscape for First Nations peoples in our region
- Uncover ways to best support social and emotional wellbeing for First Nations peoples in our region
- Work collaboratively to create a more inclusive community
- Advocate for appropriate services in our region
- Create a community event commemorating The National Sorry Day
- Integrate knowledge into Workplace Policies, Procedures and Practices.
These workshops are best suited for:
Mental Health and Medical Services and Providers, Businesses, Schools, Regional Council and NGO’s.
Workshop 1: Cultural skills frameworks
The session will include a screening of Incarceration Nation and an opportunity to be a part of in-depth question and answer sessions.

This workshop will be facilitated by Bindal Community Elder and Traditional Owner, Aunty Dorothy. Aunty Dorothy heads up the JCU Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Skills and Frameworks for Practice subject. We will also be joined by First Nations man, Alfred Henaway.

Lalania Tusa is a contemporary Aboriginal Artist & Cultural Facilitator of the Kuku Yalanji Tribe of Far North Queensland.
Growing up on Country, Lalania has always felt a strong connection to the land and enjoys translating traditional customs and knowledge through a variety of techniques and art mediums facilitating cultural knowledge, awareness, appreciation and connection to land and sea in order to create a better understanding of First Nations Cultural Practices.
