George lived in Byron Bay and dreamed of an organisation where medical care and community spirit could combine to support those in need in the beachside town. Armed with a wooden collection box, a pushbike and a brass bell, George made his way around town encouraging donations to make his dream a reality.
Over three decades later, we’re still making George proud, offering a range of disability and aged care support services across Australia while encouraging diversity and accessibility for all.
Here are the stories of our Local Area Coordinators and Community Development Coordinators, who are embedded in their own communities, living the Feros Care values every day.
MEL, VIRTUAL COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT COORDINATOR
Mel supports Feros Care in building inclusive communities for people with disability. Her neurodivergence and lived experience of disability allows her to see things that others miss.
RIANNA, COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT COORDINATOR
Rianna started working with Feros Care as a Local Area Coordinator, and is now a Community Development Coordinator, working with her community.
CARLEE, VIRTUAL LOCAL AREA COORDINATOR
Carlee works from our Tweed office virtually, supporting people with disability in our five service areas.
EMMA, LOCAL AREA COORDINATOR
Emma is a late-diagnosed Autistic woman and is able to use her lived experience in her role as a Local Area Coordinator in South Australia.
