Being a carer can be incredibly rewarding but sometimes you might need a break to go and do your own thing. Maybe you’re heading off on a trip, working, or catching up with things around the house. Whatever it might be, a short term break in a residential respite facility can help.

Residential respite, or carers respite is essentially short term care within an aged care village. In our villages staff are available 24-hours a day to provide assistance with eating, dressing, nursing, activities, and anything else that is needed.

Who is respite suitable for?

  • If you have been considering moving into an aged care village then using residential respite can allow you to try out a village before you commit to full time residential care.
  • Are you caring for a loved one? Are you planning a holiday, or just generally need a little bit of time for rest and recuperation? A short stay in a respite facility can help both you and are loved one

Experience life in our villages

Life in our residential villages is special and we are proud .Here a loved one becomes part of our community, and Feros is not a residential village as you might know it. There are pets to spend time with, social outings to go on and many laughs to be had.  The best bit can be spending time with others in the ‘tribe’, joining in daily activities and trying new things. Being bold is what it’s all about at Feros Care.

What is residential respite care?

Residential respite care, or carers break, is 24/7 care in a residential aged care village for a set period of time. Residential respite care is a great way to experience life in our Feros Care residential villages, while also giving you, the carer, a much needed break. A short break in respite care can also be a great way to make sure you and your loved one feel comfortable about the idea of moving into an aged care village as a permanent resident.

Residential respite stays in our villages on average are for 2 week blocks. Depending on your needs this can be extended. Each financial year you are eligible for up to 63 days of residential respite care.

Am I eligible for residential respite?

If you have received and have been approved for residential care by the Australian Government’s Aged Care Assessment Team (ACAT) then you are eligible for Feros Cares residential respite services.

If you have not yet completed an assessment or are await an outcome of your assessment please contact our caring staff to support you with your request for residential respite. We are available to assist with your request Monday to Friday 8am - 6pm (AEST) 1300 090 256.
