Senior Exercise yoga Class

Forever Young is an exercise program to help you feel great and keep active.  Over 10 sessions you can improve your fitness, flexibility, strength and balance.  Enjoy exercise on your own or with other people in a fun environment, set to music you will know and love.

The one hour sessions include a warm up, movement to music, strength exercises using your own body weight and resistance bands, followed by a cool down and a stretch. Coffee afterwards with the crew is always an option!

Forever Young is designed and led by qualified physiotherapists or exercise physiologists.  You’ll be in good hands as they help you achieve your exercise goals, at a pace that works for you.  The results are also measured so you can see just how much you have improved.

Am I eligible?

Older people can apply for the Forever Young program under the Home Care Package (HCP) and Short-Term Restorative care (STRC) Program.  It is also available under the Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP) if you are over 65 (or over 50 years for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders).

What’s involved?

Week one of the program is an initial health assessment to find out what level of exercise is best for you.  This can be done at home and is completely confidential.  From there you take part in eight one hour community classes before we complete a post assessment, also at home.                                             

Is there a cost for the program?

This program is available under the Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP), the Home Care Package (HCP) and Short-Term Restorative Care (STRC).  Where you fit within these funding options will determine the cost.
