Write your Will for free and harness your ‘Will Power’ this Include a Charity Week

Will power; it helps us achieve great things. To do more than the expected, make big changes, and leave an everlasting impact.

Your Will is your way of choosing how your legacy will power the lives of others after you have gone, including family and loved ones, people you want to thank, and people you might want to help.

Including a charity in your Will is a powerful way to achieve something extraordinary as your legacy.  It’s your love letter to the future, enabling you to help make a real difference in the world beyond the here and now. And with ‘Include a Charity Week’ upon us (4th – 8th September), we are reminded that it’s never too early to think about the everlasting power of your life.

What is Include a Charity Week all about?

Include a Charity Week is an annual Fundraising Institute Australia campaign encouraging more people in Australia to expand the impact they have on society by leaving a charitable gift in their Will. It’s a very popular choice for those wanting to donate to their favourite cause/s, who otherwise may not have been able to do so.

‘Will wonders never cease’ is the theme of this year’s national Include a Charity Week, reminding us that leaving a gift of any size to a charity in a Will, is a gift that keeps on giving – and we’re excited to be taking part!

Your Will has the power to end loneliness

Here and in other countries around the globe, loneliness has been recognised as a critical issue and a public health priority. According to Ending Loneliness Together’s 2023 Australian State of the Nation Report, at least 1 in 3 of us feel lonely, and 1 in 6 of us feel very lonely at any given time.

It’s a miserable way of life endured by thousands of seniors, with implications that can ravage physical, mental, and emotional health. Leaving a gift in your Will to Feros Care, however, will fuel our fight against loneliness for those lonely Australian seniors who deserve friendship and connection.

It means we can offer more places in our life changing social programs, such as the Virtual Social Centre, In Great Company, Let’s Get Technical, and Social Prescribing, and continue to research, innovate, and expand our programs to new groups and new locations. These groundbreaking initiatives help senior Australians, just like Sandie, navigate the harrowing journey from isolation to connection.

Supporting charities like Feros means we can make a real difference in the world on your behalf, helping those who are suffering or vulnerable to live happier, healthier, more connected lives.

It’s a very simple process. You don’t need to be wealthy – even a gift of 1% of your estate could help end the misery of loneliness for others and let them know that they don’t have to suffer alone.

When you leave a gift in your Will to us, you can be certain we will deliver your legacy of care, compassion and connection, for years to come.

Why is leaving a Will so important in the first place?

Statistics show that a significant number of Australians do not currently have a Will in place. In fact, The Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) reports that nearly 50% of Australians don’t have a valid Will.

If you pass away without a Will, expectantly or suddenly, the law decides where your assets will go. Plus, it’s certainly no secret that familial conflicts and breakdowns can arise if a Will has not been prepared.

Naturally, this topic inspires a lot of big thinking, which is why Will writing is something so many of us shy away from. It asks us to consider things we’d rather not face which can be confronting, and it’s a process many people think is difficult and expensive.

Online Wills – simple and pocket friendly

Despite these commonly reported fears and hesitations, making a Will is a lot easier than you might imagine. Especially if you opt for an online Will which is a simple, safe, and cost-effective way to ensure your wishes are legally captured and honoured in the future. No need for visits to lawyers or trying to decipher endless legal jargon – it’s contemporary and convenient.

While we encourage everyone to do their own research, online Will making has become a popular option – and with good reason. It saves you money, you can go at your own pace, the language is very straightforward and easy to understand, and with Safewill, it’s backed by a team of legal experts.
