Employment
At Feros Care, we believe that when people work together, amazing things can happen. And that’s exactly what we’re seeing in our Disability Employment Workshops in the Australian Capital Territory. With the third series done and dusted, we’re super excited about the progress we’ve made with peer-supporting people with disability to find meaningful work. Over 78 professionals from different fields – such as employment, education, and advocacy – have joined forces at the workshops to tackle disability employment issues. In our latest workshop, 26 experts brainstormed strategies to make a real difference, and the passion in the room was incredible.
In a heartening story from the front lines of aged care, Tony Gillespie’s transition from a seasoned contractor to an impassioned carer flips the usual mid-life script. Tony’s journey is representative of Feros Care’s mission to overturn aged care stereotypes and shows how it’s never too late to embark on a meaningful second (or third) career. His story is now showing as part of the SMASHING! documentary series, and we guarantee it’s one you won’t want to miss.
At Feros Care, we are committed to smashing stereotypes around people with disability and employment. As part of our documentary series SMASHING! we are shining a light on Cate Williams, one of our Customer Acquisition and Retention Experts, who has turned her disability challenges into her strengths, enriching not only her own life but also those of her clients.
As Wommin Bay Village’s Lifestyle Coordinator, Crystal spends her days planning fun, interactive, and ‘outside the box’ activities for the residents. The joy she gets from seeing their big happy smiles is her greatest reward.

We’re a colourful bunch at Feros Care and we welcome everyone from all walks of life. Prahb’s episode of SMASHING! celebrates her unique journey and how her culture enriches her work and the lives of those she cares for. It’s another example of how diversity, passion, and personal stories are not just welcomed but celebrated at Feros Care. Prahb, with her engaging personality, her love for food and family, and her commitment to her clients, perfectly embodies the spirit of what makes Feros Care different.
Paulette is actively changing perceptions about aged care. When Paulette tells people she’s still working in physiotherapy at 81 they have their doubts. “I find the first misconception is, she’s old, and therefore she’s frail. Followed by she’s old, therefore she can’t be with it,” Paulette reveals. Paulette’s story has been brought to life in Feros Care’s groundbreaking new documentary series, SMASHING!
Softly spoken, sweet-natured, and truly dedicated to her work, it’s undeniable that Deepa Shrestha is an asset to the residents and her colleagues at Feros Care’s Wommin Bay Residential Village.
Her story from arriving in Australia in 2017 with no formal qualifications to becoming Clinical Manager at Wommin Bay is an inspiring one. Fostering special connections with the residents who have become like family, Deepa personifies why Wommin Bay is a haven for happy, holistic, and bold ageing.
